PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Our Psychologists are experienced in helping people with a broad range of needs. We are Medicare registered for GP referred mental health counselling, such as depression, stress, eating disorders, OCD and more.

What can I expect when I book an appointment?

If the appointment is for a child or adolescent, we will supply you with a ‘Medical History & Child Behaviour’ questionnaire to fill out in advance and bring with you to the appointment.

Your initial appointment will last 1.5 hours. By the end of this session your Psychologist will outline the planned path forward, and how many sessions are likely to be needed. Some issues are resolved in one session, but generally six sessions are recommended as a minimum to effect real change in your life.

Further appointments last 1 hour in duration. In addition to discussing the issues at hand, the Psychologist may recommendation strategies and techniques for you to practice in your life between appointments.

Reports and Assessments

In addition to consultations, some clients require a report to be written. Examples include:
  • A detailed report may be commissioned by an individual or organisation (such as Workcover or Commonwealth Rehabilitation Service) for an insurance payout.
  • A written assessment and Anger Management Plan may be submitted to a court hearing so they consider leniency.
  • An employer or supported workplace may commission an assessment for people with disabling conditions so they better understand strengths and weaknesses.
